In this description of history, everything that's going to happen has already, in some form, so don't bother. The idea is that there are some general reoccuring themes which are going to happen with or without your intervention. The (overly, as illustrated by this text) obvious flaw in this theory is that real life isn't quite so futile and if you work hard enough you could change history for the better or the worse, but then you would be living by the linear theory of history. Besides that, maybe you can find something meaningful to do with your life outside of the record of history, and maybe it doesn't really matter. You have now become either a nihilist or a solipsist. Welcome to the fringe.
