In non-American football, a free kick which does not have to touch another player in order to score. A direct kick is awarded for more serious infractions such as a hand ball or a card-warranting dangerous play.

A direct kick, like any free kick, is taken from the spot of foul, and opponents must be at least 10 yards away from the ball. The kicker must not touch the ball again until it has been touched by another player.
