Those books full of
symbols from common (and even not-so-common)
dreams. They usally say that, without any knowledge of the interaction of the symbol with other things, that this symbol will
foretell some omen. This usually makes dream dictionaries very different from ones made by other publishers. For example, in
Excite astrology center's dream dictionary,
death was considered a
good omen meaning good news was sure to come. However, in Tony Crisp's Dream Dictionary, death was the symbol of
change (this is probably the one I'm going to buy into, because it isn't trying to give me a fortune-telling), and Miller's 10,000 Dreams Interpreted believes that death is the key that brings sorrows.
Most people who use dream dictionaries alone to interpret their dreams end up very dissapointed when they find out they aren't a dream prophet.
