A discordant, wildly swinging piece of (usually jazz) music, usually performed by a big band, to which an aspiring or established director could easily set a Western-style, saloon-clearing mélée. The quintessential drunken brawl song is Powerhouse. Madness In Great Ones, off of Duke Ellington's Such Sweet Thunder is another prime example, as is anything ever recorded by a large, Mingus-led group. Warner Brothers cartoons are often set to drunken brawl songs.
