1. In an RPG, a derogatory term for a player who won't play if they can't play a fighter/magic-user elf. I hate to stereotype, but girls are the worst offenders. (Boys who suffer from this sort of limited interest invariably want to play assassins or paladins. -And play them poorly, I must add.)
  2. Among fantasy literature fans, a person who gravitates to stories about elves - by J.R.R. Tolkien, Terry Brooks, or Michael Moorcock, the more central the elves are to the story (regardless of the skill, or lack thereof, with which the author highlights elves' other-than-human-ness) the happier the elf-hugger is.
  3. In the context of a work of fantasy fiction, a slur (usually made by orcs and necromancers) against a character with a sympathy for elves.
