For all the pet lovers and flea haters out there:
Fleas can make the joy of pets, well, less joyful. And the usual alternatives aren't all that great either. So for those of you who aren't into insecticides (important for those with children), here is a solution.
Go to the local greenhouse or the garden section of a local *Mart. Purchase a small bag of diatomacious earth. This super-fine crystalline powder can then be dusted into couches, pillows and carpets. Don't forget pet beds! In fact, even the pet can be dusted. Let it sit over night and then vacuum up. The tiny crystals puncture fleas but are harmless to larger forms of life, and it's completely non-toxic.
