A backward spelling of case, a type of programming control structure. Commonly seen in Unix shell scripts, it ends a case structure in a creative way.

This is Algol 68 parlance: Algol has DO-OD, IF-FI, CASE-ESAC, but, unfortunately, BEGIN-END. The Bourne shell took if-fi and case-esac, but it has do-done.

I realise there should be a lengthy exposition of some kind here to give the whole thing a semblance of nodeworthiness, but that's all there is to it, folks.
