One of the many alter egos of James Thirlwell. This odd name comes from the "band"-names Thirlwell used, like Scraping Foetus off The Wheel, You've got Foetus on Your Breath, Foetus uber Frisco, Foetus Interruptus etc etc. I guess record stores got fed up with all these names and started filing everything under Foetus...

The latest "solo" project from Foetus is Gash, an album released under the name "Foetus", plain and simple.

Also a variant spelling of fetus. Apparently, this spelling arose after some 19th century British writers popularized this way of spelling it. Unfortunately, the spelling stuck and is still in widespread use today.

Etymologically, the word arises from the Latin fetus and thus fetus is the correct spelling.
