A move in sleight of hand whereby a coin is made to vanish. The effect is accomplished by having a coin held upward by the thumb, first and second fingers. The second hand is brought down over the coin, the fingers covering the secret action of spreading the fingers of the first hand, causing the coin to drop into the palm. The second hand, in the same fluid and continuous motion grasps the area where the coin used to be. A skilled magician will follow the second hand (the one that is pretending to hold the coin) with his eyes to keep the audience's attention fixed on it. When he opens his hand, the coin is gone (of course, it's still in the palm of the first hand).
