A restoration for your teeth. The full gold crown, or FGC, is usually placed in the posterior part of the mouth (or anywhere out of the smile line) because people generally do not want to look like pirates.

In some ways they are better than a PFM (Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal) crown, because they will not wear down the opposing teeth nearly as rapidly as will porcelain. They also will not break like porcelain can.

However, they are still gold-colored, which some people simply find unacceptable.
