The geodesic dome is an architectual structure popularized by R. Buckminster Fuller. It's basically a dome constructed of nearly identical triangles. Often lived in by SoCal New-Agers, these structures are dang interesting. They are the most heat-efficient buildings on earth, they are light (and lighter still; hot air inside the dome often creates enough lift to relieve some stress on the structure), and assuming the same triangle size, they get stronger as they get larger.
