Logic puzzles like
Paint by numbers,
battleships, etc., in which you are given a
grid and some information about what fills it, and you have to determine the rest of the information about what fills it.
These puzzles make up a large part of the World Puzzle Championship.
Path puzzles vaguely fit into this category, but can be thought of as a separate type of puzzle.
