A type of
store that depending on its focus is like a
drugstore or a
grocery store where the emphasis is on natural foods, drugs and cosmetics. Usually there are lots of
organic vegetables,
bulk bins filled with
whole grains, lots of
tofu,
tempeh, and
seitan. Also natural
shampoos,
soaps,
cosmetics,
household cleaning products. Some choose to carry organic
meat.
The natural foods store I shop in is also a co-op which means we're members who work in the store and receive discounts as well as feeling like we're part of something bigger than ourselves.
