A
meeting of the
residents of a
dorm or
co-op, at which the elected
house council, if there is one, usuallly mentions a few house issues, like the dorm ice-skating social next Friday. The few house residents at the meeting look blankly around, eat the
free food that occasionally accompanies house meetings as an incentive for attendance, and leave.
Sometimes
real issues are discussed, like what we should do to the
fraternity next door after they left the
oysters from their last party in our fridge for three weeks, causing the evacuation of the first floor when
some poor bastard opened the refrigerator door. (We dumped the rotten oysters, seeping
rancid oyster juice, in their trash cans.
