A meditative technique utilizing alchemical symbolism as a means to transformation, particularly for physical and spiritual health.

In the Western Esoteric Tradition inner alchemy is representeted by all manner of symbols, most derived from mythological and occassionally chemical sources. These are written in the Language of the Birds, see for example: tabula smaragdina hermetis.

In China inner alchemy took the form of breathing exercises, and visualisation along with meditation. The Taoists also utilized mythological contexts in their practices and even including stellar contemplations such as those practiced by Taoist Sorcerers.
