Basically, rather than just jumping out and grabbing the day (at which the day may fight back, and you'll be left with no wallet and two black eyes), try surrounding it with your minions and starving it out. When the day becomes hungry and desperate, negotiate or attack a visible weakness. This will more often result in successfully seized days.
