"Leko" is another name for an ellipsoidal light instrument, the most useful and flexible (as in adjustible) type of theatre light. Technically the term refers to a single brandname for a line of excellent ellipsoidals put out by Strand, but the brandname has come to encompass the entire type of light. Basically, people refer to ellipsoidals as lekos the same way they refer to facial tissues as kleenex..

While it probably doesn't help much to say this here, there is one thing that the writeup under ellipsoidal as of this writing does not mention: Ellipsoidals are very, very expensive.
