Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet

Tinkering the hours away,

Along came a spider,

Who sat down beside her

And this he had to say,

“I’ll sit for a while”

And this made her smile

“so copy me, you may.”

Gears, springs and wire

Captured his likeness

As morning turned to day

Then the spider moved on

But for his kindness

He’s still remembered today.
