The Holy Grail of the modern-day sports franchise owner, luxury boxes are private viewing areas in sports stadiums that seat 10 to 15 people and usually feature, cable TV, internet and phone access, fancy catered food, and comfy chairs and couches. Aimed at large corporate customers, these money-making machines can sell for as much as $250,000 per game.

No matter what owners say, the real goal of building new stadiums nowadays is to have more and snazzier luxury boxes, and thus to make more money.
