The marbled cat, Felis marmorata, is found in Southeast Asia, India, and north into Nepal. It is about domestic cat-sized, but with a much fatter and longer tail, and a blotchy fur pattern similar to the clouded leopard. The large tail is supposed to be an adaptation for balance because they live mostly in trees, generally in undisturbed tropical rain forest, and thus their habitat is in danger as humans chop it down. So little is known about their life in the wild, though, that the exact size of the wild population is not known. They eat squirrels, rodents, bats, reptiles, and insects and are generally nocturnal.
