A program at schools that allows students to watch the democratic process in action. The local government will bring in polling machines and you and your classmates will go down to them (my high school, RHS, took us during history classes) and do your thing. It works exactly like a real election, minus the electoral college and the CNN coverage of course, and hopefully get us to appreciate our right to periodic non-violent overthrow of leaders.

Comrade M was going to vote for the Social Democrats, but had to vote Green instead.

Another difference between mock elections and the real thing is that you don't have competition between the ROTC, computer club, Future Business Leaders of America, and the hall patrol over who will pull the strings of the candidate in question. As such, it's more a demonstration of how things could work than how they actually do work. Garbage in, garbage out?
