Nightmare paint is quite possibly the most
surreal pigment ever created.
A certain hare uses it to
wreck Fudd's
peaceful dream, disrupting the
background from
heavenly clouds to hellish chaos. The paint changes
color and
pattern with each stroke (e.g. indigo with yellow
polka dots, slime green,
feces brown, etc.), producing a wild,
haphazard look.
The Looney Tune it appears in, titled The Big Snooze (released October 5th, 1946), was the last Warner Brothers cartoon directed by Bob Clampett. His risque style is boldly apparent. It includes Elmer in a variety of costumes, including full drag with bright red lipstick. Also, Bugs' catch phrase is conspicuously missing.
