A term used in satellite television systems, usually related to sports broadcasts. What a sports event broadcast is shown outside it's home area, the transmission is said to be out-of-market.

This is common in DSS satellite systems such as DirecTV, which offers pacakges of sports broadcasts (professional and college football, baseball, hockey, basketball) to its subscribers. These packages are available at an additional fee to the subscriber.
