scienific study of certain aspects of
human experience. Focuses parimarily on
ESP,
telekenesis, and
near-death experiences. Most of these phenomena are termed "
psychic" or "
psi."
Just as a child psychologist is not a child, a parapsychologist is not necessarily psychic. They investigate these phenomena with exactly the same standard of proof given to other phenomena. This allows us to seperate true from false claims. Most parapsychologists are skeptics, in the true sense of the word.
