A wide-brimmed felt hat worn by the llaneros, the cowboys of the Venezuelan plains.

It is made of imitation or real beaver fur. They were and maybe still are made by the Italian company Borselino; the quality of the hat is designated by the number of x's on the label.

Because of its fuzzy nap, the hat is called after the fuzzy pods of the guama tree.
