In the late 1970s through 1980s, Bill Cosby promoted Jell-O Pudding Pops in television advertisements aimed at children. Their denser and creamier consistency set them apart from popsicles made of corn syrup, coloring and water. While Kraft Foods stopped making these chocolate and vanilla flavored treats, they are easy to prepare at home.

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 package (4-serving size) Jell-O Instant Pudding and Pie Mix
  • 6 (5 oz.) paper or plastic cups
  • 6 popsicle sticks or plastic spoons

In a bowl, beat the pudding mix and milk together with a wire whisk for at least 2 minutes. Spoon the mixture equally into the paper or plastic cups. For handles, insert a popsicle stick or plastic spoon into the middle of each cup. Freeze the pops for 5 hours or until firm. To remove the pops from the cups, tear the cup and peel it off the pop or:

  1. Place the bottoms of the cups in warm water for 15 seconds.
  2. Then press the cup bottoms to push the pop out. (Pulling on the popsicle stick may leave a stickless pop.)
Serves 6.
