Used to attach things to a noticeboard or wall, bypassing their gravitational tendency. Typically are made of either plastic or metal.

Very fun to use to make smiley faces and other assorted shapes using coloured pins when bored :)
Less fun when placed on a seat as a nasty prank :(

Invented by Edwin Moore in 1900, this "pin with a handle" is still manufactured by the Moore Push Pin company in the United States. Varieties are made plastic, aluminum, or wood handles; the pin is made of stainless steel.
