Loci (plural of locus, the "spatial" identity or location of a gene) of which expression influences some quantitative trait. The study of quantitative trait loci (QTLs) is conventionally refered to as quantitative genetics. Arguably, most measurable traits have a large number of QTLs (on the order of a hundred or more) that affect their state.
