The translation of
sensory data from one
sense oriented format into another. A high tech exhibit of this is the translation of a written 2-dimensional bio-chemical compound into a tactile 3 dimensional model incorporating weights involved using, as an example, force-feedback.
Sensory transduction can also be analogous to playing an
electric guitar.. the strings
vibrate, and those vibrations are transduced by being
translated into
electrical signals read and re-produced in a new form by an amplifier. You can feel the strings on your hand as you add your chosen amount of energy strike, which is then transducted into an audible event.
