Standing outside sunny warm, looking at dorms stories high. Perhaps the tallest buildings, the city pushes obscure codes to prevent people building tall. Daisy visiting from Poland, nighttime before painting, hated the flat sparseness. Backwards again. Child, young, mischevious. Reality returned with imperfections, the surface of the mirror long ago variously marred. Clasped hands bordering, half as tall just as wide, down steps onto cracked sidewalk. Bright sun aimed against huge walls, playing gently on bricks and fire escapes, touching through distance blocks away. Slipping, shattering, beautiful disintegration bordering little shoes. Curiously understanding, mom offers a broom twice my height, metal not plastic dustpan full of dangerous glinting.
