Shmancy is the word we use to describe useless crap that is
SUPPOSED to be
Fancy, but is in fact, far too
gaudy and
tacky to be anything but
Shmancy. many things from
the Victorian Era are Shmancy as well as pretty much anything found in
your Grandmothers living room. Any over
filigreed,
carved,
doo-dadded,
ostentatious larger than life trinket fits into this catagory.
Like that weird china doll thing my girlfriend keeps ont the shelf...shhhhhhhhhh, don't tell her I said that.
