Not nearly as
common as
hammer bite,
slide bite is the pinching of the
web of one's
firing hand by the backward
movement of the slide of a
semiautomatic pistol as a cartridge is
fired.
Though not really very common there have been reports of slide bite injuries from people who use hammerless guns like the Glock. How that exactly happens I cannot fathom, I guess they just have real fat hands and have bulldog wrinkles on them or more likely they are holding the pistol wrong.
It is also possible to injure your weak hand or support hand by having it in contact with the slide as you pull the trigger. This is not very smart and having a bloodied hand after shooting a gun on account of a wrong grip is a sure sign you need to enroll in a gun safety and handling course real soon.
