A climbing hold that is the opposite of a
Jug.
The sloper is
flat and
inclined.
Sometimes slopers are so hard to
hold onto that moisture levels
in the
air can be a signifigant factor.
Due to this many
bouldering problems
are only attempted when the weather
is at about 5
oC below 0.
One can then hold the sloper, but the tradeoff
is that one can not feel one's hands.
