Simply, store credit is a certificate, issued in a dollar amount that can be used at a (usually) secondhand shop to redeem for merchandise. It's most similar to a gift certificate or Disney Bucks, with the exception that it is not acquired with cash, but by trading things that the shop needs. The store credit certificate then allows you to acquire the things from the shop that you need, without putting down any money.
