I have some friends who call me on the telephone.
They start out by saying a few interesting things, but the conversation quickly dissolves into him narrating his actions on the computer, conversing with a video game, or generally ignoring the fact that he is on the phone.

This is fine, I can always say "bye" and hang up, but when I do he tries to say a few more interesting things.

But I know if I submit he will realize victory and return to narrating his actions on the computer or conversing with a video game.

It isnt just me. In fact I only noticed it subconciously until another friend of mine spoke up about it.

If you call someone, have something to say.
If they try to hang up, let them.
And remember, no one wants to hear you narrating your actions on the computer or conversing with a video game.

Dammit, Talk to ME not the COMPUTER
