The world spins

gravity pulls at our shoulders

as we try to hang on

The days come and go

oscillation between

chaos and calm

There are times we need a safe island

a still and quiet place to catch our breath

inhale and exhale

It could be a back porch or

might be a long ride in a car

often it is a familiar doorway and

                                                                                     the frame that surrounds it

solid, familiar, non-judgemental
