A
transparent money grab by the
NHL. In order to
spiff up the NHL's
FOX broadcasts, teams developed a third jersey (either home or away) to be worn on special occassions, like the Saturday FOX game. This also lets the teams sell even more
licensed merchandise.
They range from the
ghastly (
Boston Bruins) to the garish (
Phoenix Coyotes) to the spiffy (
Pittsburgh Penguins) and the classic (
Toronto Maple Leafs,
Philadelphia Flyers).
Even so, the
NFL tops any other league ... can every single assistant coach wear different team
logo wear? Apparently so.
