Not really so much a Marxist idea as just common sense, this is an extension of the division of labor inherent in the logic of capitalism : unfortunately for us, computers at their current level of adaptability and ubiquity, make the best slaves of all.

This concept is elaborately expanded upon in The Cult of Information by Theodore Roszak, a neo-Luddite exploration of the misuse of technology to teach children who haven't yet mastered reading, learn skills that require physical abilites and communicate with some level of depth.
