A slang form of the word "trip", as in a
chemically-induced hallucinogenic experience. The altered spelling specifically refers to the ingestion of a substance from the
tryptamine family of molecules which includes
serotonin,
psilocybin (
shrooms) and
dimethyltryptamine (
DMT) among others.
