Eighteen seconds before sunrise
the night removes its starry cloak
I arise, and rub my eyes
longing for feelings you invoke

You've always been there every night
I never had to wonder
where you'd be; but waiting for me
to calm me before slumber

In parallel positions, I give my edition
of all the day gone by
you sit and listen to my trepidations
until I close my eyes

But your absence has left a bitter taste
an empty space, a cavity
a place that once held such sweet things
has left me in depravity

A place untouched; perfect and white
a place I haven't forgotten
without you here I fear my dear
that this place will become rotten

Unfazed and unchanged you remain
mute to my pleading hush
I cannot see where I'd be
without my purple toothbrush
