I am not a big Disney fan by any stretch of the imagination, but growing up in an area so close to the Not So Magic Kingdom, some expressions got sucked into my vocabulary. One is twidderpate, which comes from the movie Bambi. In the spring, deer and other creatures get caught up in their hormones, i.e., mating dances and crushes. So when one is caught up in the excitement and warm, gushy, icky feelings about someone, like a deer caught in headlights, they are twidderpated. See also Spring Fever.
