2-Tone was an indie label (sorta), and a movement rooted in ska, fun (for those were dour days), and anti-racist politics (or have we forgotten that last bit?). It was the home of The Specials, The Selector, The Beat, Madness, and others, including (briefly) a between-labels Elvis Costello (producer of the first Specials LP). The label, like the flagship Specials, grew "Too Much Too Young", and self-destructed, leaving behind lots of great music, ska or not.
