A neural network learning paradigm. A neural network uses an unsupervised learning algorithm if it trains itself using only input data and without reference to a corrective method (as in reinforcement learning) or the correct output data. Akin to the being able to ice skate really well the first time you try (damn it, I hate those people). A KSOFM is a good example of a neural network that uses unsupervised learning.
