In MS-DOS systems, a memory block somewhere in the linear address range 000A0000-000FFFFF, an area normally reserved for the BIOS, video frame buffer, and system extensions. A DOS memory management technique is to use the paging hardware of the microprocessor to map RAM into unused parts of that address range, so TSR programs and device driver modules can be loaded into that area, to free up conventional memory.
