wedgie

To give someone a wedgie, reach down the back of their pants and grab their undies. Sharply pull them up to the victim's waist, resulting in them becoming wedged between the victim's buttocks.

In northern Missouri in the mid 70s, a wedgie was also known as a melvin. In Kansas during the same period, the same prank was called a highjack.

Wedgies are reputed to have carried off young red kangaroos, goats and even young children, although this is probably more folk law than anything.
