A working title is a temporary name for a project while it is being worked on. This name rarely ends up being used for the final project. This phrase is usually used by people who are working on movies, music, or books.

For example, while Kevin Williamson was writing the screenplay for the movie "Scream", it was not known as "Scream". The working title was "Scary Movie". Incidentally, "Scary Movie" was used as the title for a horror movie parody made by the Wayans brothers that took a few potshots at "Scream".

Example sentence:

Her new photography book will be about puppies and rainbows. The working title is "Puppy Rainbow Happiness". The editor wants it changed to "Dogs In The Mist".

The Nodeshell Rescue Team is not a working title.
