YMODEM is a
error checking scheme suitable for transfering
multiple files used back in the
BBS days. Because the protocol enables you to batch a group of files for transmission, many
software programs refer to YMODEM as
YMODEM BATCH. To provide a multiple file transmission capability, YMODEM uses a
header block that carries the filename of each file being transfered, its date of creation, and the file length.
