Renegade will be Valleyfair!'s eighth roller coaster - preceded by High Roller, Mild Thing (the kiddie coaster), Corkscrew, Excalibur, Wild Thing, Steel Venom and Mad Mouse. It is the second wooden roller coaster at Valleyfair and the most recent one to be built. Renegade will be built on land that was previously held by maintenance buildings and unused land. It will stand 104 tall and will cover 3113 feet of track. Great Coasters International built Renegade, who also designed Thunderhead of Dollywood and Roar of Six Flags America. Renegade will feature a station fly-by and an S-shaped initial drop. The construction of Renegade has lead to Valleyfair's first expansion since Challenge Park was built on previous parking space and the first land expansion since the construction of Excalibur. Previous ride additions have involved using pre-existing park space, ride removals or using parking space for expansion.
