A presentation program created by Apple Computer, released on 7 January 2003 at the MacWorld Expo. Keynote's supporters argue that it is easy to use, has great graphics including built-in support for anti-aliased fonts and some really beautiful 3d transitions that take advantage of OS X's support for OpenGL, and that it has a very good price. Detractors argue that it is missing vital features of PowerPoint, its main competitor.
Keynote's file format is a directory bundle with an XML file in it; the file (named presentation.apxl) describes all of the content for the presentation, and describes how the other files in the directory are to be used. The other files are all media files.
