American History X is the most powerful and moving movies i have ever seen. It grabs you by the throat and forces you view every gruesome detail. So many things are being depicted at one time, it almost doesn't let you focus on just one idea. But apparently many things can intertwine in reality.

This movie displays the seed of racism being planted at young ages by parents, violence, domestic abuse, prejudice, the unconditional love for family, hate openly and pointlessly displayed out on the streets, and the opening of eyes to a better light. I learned a lot from this movie. I'm not racist in any way, or have hate buried inside of me. But i still feel as though there is so much out there left to learn about all those issues, and this movie is a step in the right direction. It's also very discouraging, because no matter how much people change there will still be just as many ignorants running around with their own ideas on how others should be treated based on race or skin color or anything like that.

No matter how much you think you know, or you think you see and are faced with, this movie is a great eye opener.
